A couple of times a year I have a closer look at my makeup collection and select those items that I don't like or use anymore. I find it extremely difficult because I'm weak and most of the time I insist on products too much haha. This time though I stayed strong and managed to talk myself out of keeping things I haven't had in my hands for years. Also, sadly there was some expired stuff that I always try to avoid but that reminds me to shop my stash more often. Maybe I should start a new project pan soon!
Anyway, here are my unwanted bits. How often do you sort your makeup out? :)
Sleek Ultra Dark Mattes V2 palette - For me the most difficult thing to get rid of is always an eyeshadow palette. This was a favourite for years but I feel like I kind of grew out of it. I bought loads of new palettes and now I feel like I have all these colours in a better "edition".
Maybelline Color Tattoos in Immortal Charcoal & Everlasting Navy - I used to have about six shades altogether, these were the last two but in the past year I haven't used them. I much prefer the KIKO Long Lasting Sticks so I gave these away.
Catrice Intensif'eye Wet&Dry Shadow | Charly's Chocolate Factory - It's such a pretty shadow, I used it in this look a couple of years ago but the sad truth is that I haven't touched it since. :( I hardly ever reach for mono eyeshadows, if I do they are always the KIKO Water shadows, therefore this one has to go.
Collection Creme Puff Lip Cream in Cotton Candy - Collection have upped their game in the last couple of years I think and the lip creams are great too, even if they have only four shades. Just checked it online and they have new packaging and are now called Velvet Kiss Lip Cream. I don't know if they have changed the formula as well, but the one I have is very similar to the Bourjois Rouge Velvet matte lip creams, maybe these are a bit drier.
The reason it goes to the bin though is that it completely dried out! One day I opened it and there was nothing on the applicator or in the tube and not because it ran out, so strange! I might have picked up a bad one as it wasn't sealed when I bought it. Anyway, I'm not upset as it was only £3.
Barry M Lip Paint | 53 - I must have got this because I love peachy shades all over my face. This lipstick has a pearl sheen that isn't very flattering on me, no wonder I wore it only once. It will go to my cousin's who loves every kind of lippies and I'm sure she will get some use of it.
Freedom Makeup Pro Melts Lipgloss | Debut - I thought I chucked it ages ago but now it's definitely time, I need space in my lipstick holder. First of all, this isn't a lipgloss. It's very pigmented and has a thick consistency but doesn't feel comfortable on the lips as it's super tacky. The colour is also horrible on me, I expected a nude after seeing the first promo pics but it's baby pink which is a no-no for me.
Essence Waterproof Gel Eye Pencil - I liked it a lot in the beginning, I found the longevity great on the waterlines but it got drier and drier. It was an automatic twist eyeliner which means that it became blunt and it irritated me, so I actually sharpened it once but that wasn't a good idea, I managed to ruined it.
Avon Automatic Eyeliner - This must be like at least 6 years old, way too old to keep it. The pigmentation wasn't great anyway and its texture always felt quite hard too. Straight to the bin.
QVS Blusher makeup brush - I believe this was one of my first makeup brushes, remember picking it up from Superdrug. It was my only blush brush for a long time but obviously, after a few years, it started shedding and lost its softness too. I haven't used it for two years now, no point to keep it.
L'oréal Color Riche nail polish | 102 Macaronnoisette - My love for nude nails started with this colour from L'oréal and I'm sad it got thick and congealed. I tried to fix it with acetone which helped but after a few months it got thick again and I haven't got the patience anymore I'll just get a new one.
